Background:

Telangana’s WE Hub, the first state-run incubator for women entrepreneurs in India, celebrated 600 students graduating from its main program, WE Enable. The six-month program aims to develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills among women from both government and private colleges across the state.

Speaking at the event, Minister for IT, Industries & Commerce D. Sridhar Babu praised the graduates, calling them “problem-solvers and changemakers” and encouraged young women to aspire to become role models. He highlighted the state’s vision of ‘Telangana Rising 2027’ and reiterated that women’s empowerment is central to the government’s long-term strategy to build a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

The Telangana government will set up MSME parks for women in every Assembly area to support their businesses. The minister said the women’s workforce in the state has risen from 22% to 40.3%, creating more opportunities. The event also featured talks by Priyanka Dutt and Jwala Gutta, inspiring students to dream big.

In six months, WE Enable gave students skills and experience to turn ideas into solutions. The program worked with companies like Micron, Microsoft, LinkedIn Learning, Novartis, Vivifi, Forge Alumnus, Nations Benefits, Wadhwani Foundation, and Pifinity Foundation to give students practical experience.

Sita Pallacholla, CEO of WE Hub, said that graduating the first group of WE Enable students is just the start of a bigger movement. She added that the goal is to create opportunities for women to take part, lead, and succeed in all areas, and that this achievement shows what can be done through teamwork and clear vision.
