Background:
Resilient Women Leaders, a Croydon-based organisation, celebrated its fifth anniversary on November 26 at London’s Union Jack Club. The event highlighted the increasing need for programmes that build women’s confidence and resilience at work.
Since it started, the organisation has helped over 1,000 women through workshops, online courses, and training sessions. The celebration brought together past participants, partners, and supporters to showcase the positive impact of its programmes.
Speakers at the event included Emma Gibbs, British Army nurse and Atlantic rowing team member; Ann O’Flynn, former England Red Rose rugby player and military commanding officer; and Rachel Cooper, co-founder of the Resilient Leaders Elements model. They spoke about how leadership is tested under pressure and stressed the importance of clear thinking and self-awareness in decision-making.
The event also raised £600 for The Girls’ Network, a charity providing mentoring and opportunities for girls aged 14 to 19. Sue Rimmer OBE, chair of trustees, praised the synergy between the two organisations’ missions.
Co-founder Alex Webb said, “It was a privilege to stand alongside so many remarkable women. To see how they now lead with clarity, confidence, and resilience, and to know RWL supported that journey, is deeply rewarding. Their impact reaches far beyond themselves.”
Event sponsor Angie Glover of Qinexa said that they were happy to support Resilient Women Leaders’ five-year milestone. She added that the organisation’s work matches their goal of developing people and making a positive impact in the Pharma and Biotech sectors, showing the value of purposeful and resilient leadership.
