Background:

Women in Film India (WIF India) has launched a new program to support the mental health of women in the film industry. Called “The Resilience Playbook,” the six-week workshop helps women filmmakers cope with the pressures of a tough and demanding industry. Led by wellness coach Chetna Chakravarthy, the workshops focus on building confidence, clarity, and self-worth as important professional skills.

The workshops are peer-driven, giving participants a supportive space to reconnect with their creative work while learning tools to manage the challenges of filmmaking.

“Creativity flows when resilience is at the core,” said Guneet Monga Kapoor, Academy Award-winning producer and founder of WIF India. “This program equips women with the ability to endure, adapt, and carve out their space in a constantly evolving industry.”

The initiative particularly addresses challenges faced by women in film, including systemic inequities, heightened scrutiny, and long, unpredictable working hours. Rabia Chopra, head of programs at WIF India, said the program provides a supportive space where women can relax, feel strong, and grow their resilience by supporting one another.

To ensure accessibility, WIF India is subsidizing the workshop for participants. The launch was announced on the sidelines of the WAVES Film Bazaar, part of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, reflecting the organization’s commitment to nurturing both professional success and emotional well-being in cinema.
