Background:
At just nine years old, Arshi Gupta is rewriting history in Indian motorsports. Arshi Gupta raced in the competitive Micro Max category for 8–12 year-olds and won the 2025 title at Bengaluru’s Meco Kartopia, becoming the first female to win the Indian Rotax Max Championship in its 21-year history.
Arshi started not on a kart, but on a bicycle, where her father saw her speed and balance. She began training hard, managing school along with practice on tracks in Gurugram, the UAE, and the UK.
Racing for Leapfrog Racing, Arshi amazed everyone with her strong and consistent performance. She won Round 3 in Chennai, took a double victory in Coimbatore, and secured the championship in Bengaluru by winning both the Pre-Final and Final races. Her achievements earned her recognition in the India Book of Records as the youngest female to get a National Karting License.
She also represented India at the Asia Pacific Motorsports Championships in Sri Lanka, finishing a remarkable fourth. True to her age, Arshi celebrated her historic win with infectious joy, exclaiming, “I’m very happy and I want to race more!” before hopping onto a kid’s scooter to zip around the track again.
Joining Arshi on the national podium were Chennai’s MSPORT racers Eshanth Vengatesan, who won the Junior Max category for a remarkable hat-trick, and Rivaan Dev Preetham, who topped the newly introduced Mini Max class. Eshanth’s victory also secured him a place at the World Grand Finals in Bahrain. Arshi Gupta’s courage and love for racing inspire young girls in India to dream big.
