Background

The Women Commission of the Archdiocese of Bhopal organised a two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) programme in the last week of April, equipping women leaders to take on more active roles in parish life and ministry.

Nearly 50 women representatives from parishes across the deaneries of Bhopal, Narmadapuram-Harda, and Sehore attended the programme. In an attempt to develop leaders among the grassroots, the program sought to enhance skills and knowledge of role performance and to train participants to become resource people in their various communities.

The high degree of participation across several deaneries was indicative of the growing concern of the archdiocese regarding the active involvement of women in their mission.

The training concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Bishop Durairaj of Bhopal. During the Mass, participants presented their annual action plan to the Archbishop, outlining strategies to carry the programme’s objectives into their respective parishes.

Bishop Durairaj encouraged the women to translate their plans into concrete action at the parish level. He further praised the organizers for conducting a very well-organized event, which ensured wide participation by all members of the Archdiocese population.

The participants found the training to be highly enriching and motivating, promising to apply the knowledge gained and work together as leaders and servants of society.

The sessions were conducted by Sr. Lidwin Fernandes, National Executive Secretary of the CCBI Women Commission, together with members of the Archdiocesan Women Commission Executive Committee, providing spiritual and holistic formation for all participants.
