Background

Twenty women-led business projects selected under the second cohort of the REDpreneur Women programme have received grant funding worth €140,000 to support business development and community-focused entrepreneurship in Ukraine.

The selected participants were awarded €7,000 each after presenting their business ideas during the final pitching stage of the programme held in May.

The initiative supports women entrepreneurs working in areas such as technology, healthcare, education, agriculture, environmentally sustainable production, local manufacturing and social services.

Participants presented business models and development plans before an expert jury after completing training, mentoring sessions and practical workshops designed to strengthen entrepreneurial and financial skills.

The winning projects included businesses focused on sustainability, rehabilitation, inclusion and digital innovation.

Among the selected ventures were orthopaedic insole manufacturer Foot Centre, leather accessories brand TASHKA, environmentally sustainable manufacturer EKOIN and fuel briquette producer Pini-Kay.

Technology and education-focused initiatives also received support, including the Dobrolik software platform for non-profit organisations, the Zorotrek robotic eye-tracking platform and STEM-based educational projects.

Several socially focused businesses linked to rehabilitation, psychosocial support and inclusive services were also among the winners.

The programme additionally recognised environmentally focused projects such as plastic recycling services, sustainable toy manufacturing and natural food production initiatives.

Organisers said the programme aims to help women strengthen businesses, introduce innovative solutions and support local economic recovery in Ukraine. Training during the programme focused on entrepreneurship, financial planning, marketing strategy, digital tools and sustainable business development.

REDpreneur Women is implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross, with support from the Austrian foundation NACHBAR IN NOT and the Austrian Development Agency.
