The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Jammu and Kashmir staged the third SheLeads conclave in Jammu, drawing women leaders, officials, business owners, academics, doctors and media figures to discuss women’s leadership. The theme was From Local Strength to National Scale.

CII J&K Vice-Chairman Siddhant Chawdhary opened the session by urging stronger backing for women through mentorship, networking and leadership training.

Dr. Ritu Singh, Founder and Trustee of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation, gave the keynote and urged women to drive positive change while holding on to their values. Chief Guest Sheetal Nanda, Commissioner and Secretary of the J&K Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, praised women’s roles in governance, sustainability, social development and public service and urged them to step into leadership.

Two panels followed. Prof Amisha Gupta, Dr. Palki Sharma, Suvidha Sarin and Chitwan Jain opened the discussion on women leading change across sectors, sharing how women grow stronger through setbacks and create openings for those who follow.

The second, on creating opportunities in a changing world, featured Esha Modi, Dr. Bhavani Raina, Puja Sharma, Anissa Nabi and Ashima Kaul, who spoke on entrepreneurship, innovation, digital transformation and new openings.

Speakers called for skill development, mentorship, industry links and stronger support networks so women can grow in their careers and add to economic and social progress.

The conclave ended with an appeal for closer teamwork among industry, government, academia and civil society to advance women-led growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
