Ghazal Alagh, the 36-year-old co-founder of Mamaearth, has earned a remarkable milestone by being named the youngest self-made woman entrepreneur in the IDFC FIRST Private & Hurun India’s Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennia 2024 list. Her company, under parent firm Honasa Consumer, has recorded strong momentum with a valuation now touching Rs 15,500 crore, a sharp 55% rise from last year.

Alagh’s journey from homemaker to a leading name in India’s beauty sector puts her alongside top women entrepreneurs like Falguni Nayar of Nykaa and Neha Bansal of Lenskart. Their presence on the list shows how women are playing a bigger role in India’s startup world.

The Hurun report also features Ruchi Kalra of OfBusiness and Kavitha Subramanian of Upstox. It shows that women-led companies are growing and bringing new ideas to different industries.

The list also features well-established companies beyond women-led ventures. Zerodha, founded by Nithin and Nikhil Kamath, takes the eighth spot with a valuation of Rs 64,800 crore. Right after it is Razorpay, led by Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, which ranks ninth and continues to strengthen its place in India’s fintech market.

Adding to the list’s youth-driven success is Kaivalya Vohra of Zepto, just 21 years old, whose company surged to a valuation of Rs 41,800 crore after a remarkable 259% growth.

The 200 entrepreneurs on the list have built businesses worth Rs 36 lakh crore and created nearly a million jobs. Bengaluru leads as the main hub for these founders, followed by Mumbai and Gurugram, showing a growing and dynamic startup scene.
