Women In Cloud Launches WICxSaksham to Empower India’s Cyber Workforce

Background:

Women In Cloud, a global organization supporting women’s economic growth, has launched the WICxSaksham initiative. This three-year program aims to build a cyber-ready workforce and support India’s goal of a $7 trillion Viksit Bharat.

The program, along with Veeam® Software and GHCI is meant to empower women to take leadership roles in the Cloud and Cybersecurity fields and to be the enablers of India’s digital growth.

WICxSaksham 2025 is part of the Bharat Cyber Suraksha Mission, with plans to certify 1 million professionals, activate 100 universities, and reach 100 million citizens to improve digital skills across India. The initiative supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat Mission, which aims to make India a self-reliant digital powerhouse by 2047.

The program was announced at a press conference attended by Chaitra Vedullapalli, Co-Founder & President of Women In Cloud; Sandeep Bhambure, Vice President and Managing Director, India & SAARC, Veeam; Dr. K.N. Subramanya, Principal, RV College of Engineering; and other leaders from the tech and innovation ecosystem.

Chaitra Vedullapalli stated that building a strong and skilled workforce is essential for India’s $7 trillion Viksit Bharat goal. The WICxSaksham program aims to close the skills gap by linking industry, universities, and policymakers.

It​‍​‌‍​‍‌ is a comprehensive program, which also features university activations, executive leadership roundtables, the DevSecOps and AI certifications, and the Main Hoon Saksham campaign that will connect with more than 100 million people and highlight India’s digital ​‍​‌‍​‍‌heroes.

WICxSaksham focuses on women, youth, and innovation, aiming to make India’s workforce strong in cybersecurity and help the country lead in technology.
