Background :
Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) has organised an interactive session for women entrepreneurs to come up with new ideas, develop entrepreneurship skills, and also foster communication between women entrepreneurs and industry people. The programme was organised at the JKEDI’s District Office Srinagar/CWE-K, which included participation from entrepreneurs, academics and startup enthusiasts, and was aimed at fostering the development of women entrepreneurs in the Union Territory.
This session was hosted by Shradha Sharma (CEO and Founder of Your Story and Bharat Project). The programme was attended by the officials of JKEDI, including Shabir Hussain Shah, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI, and faculty members of the Central University of Kashmir and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar. Women entrepreneurs from other parts of J&K also came up for participation.
Sharma emphasised the need for mentoring, professional networking, and advice in helping women who are entrepreneurs. She advised entrepreneurs to be concerned about creating companies that would be able to develop and be sustainable. She also highlighted the growing number of funding sources for startups with good ideas and a proven business model.
Business growth, funding options, and how to create strong business models were some of the major topics addressed during the session. The participants also shared their experiences, discussed the challenges they are facing in their businesses and received guidance from the experts on how to improve their businesses.
JKEDI will keep on organising such initiatives to promote women entrepreneurship, promote innovation and enhance the startup ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, it said. The institute is dedicated to empowering women to become successful entrepreneurs, offering training, guidance, and networking opportunities with industry professionals.
