Background-

Mahindra Group confirmed Shveta Arya as its new Group Chief Strategy Officer. The role starts September 15, 2026. Arya will also enter Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s senior management ranks.

The Group Strategy Office falls under her charge going forward. Her mandate covers Mahindra’s business lines broadly, spotting where growth can come from, pushing value creation and keeping the group’s long-range direction on track. A seat on the Group Executive Board comes with the position, and she reports to Group CEO and Managing Director Dr Anish Shah.

Shah cited her two-decades-plus record in leadership, strategy and management consulting across automotive, travel, financial services and telecom as the reason behind the pick.

Arya’s career runs past 23 years, built across publicly listed multinationals and consulting firms. Cummins India Limited was her most recent stop, where she served as Managing Director handling business growth, customer success, talent development and workplace culture. Thomas Cook India came before that, where she ran Strategy and M&A. Kearney and Infosys mark the earlier stretches of her career.

An MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Delhi University round out her academic background.

Cummins also had her sponsoring a program built around impact for girls and women across India, work that lines up with her broader push on diversity, inclusion and women’s empowerment.
